As Sustainable Investment Director, Hyewon leads Gresham House’s Sustainable Investment team and strategy, driving environmental, social and governance (ESG) efforts across the firm and its investment strategies.
With over 20 years of global experience spanning Asia, Europe and North America, Hyewon has held senior executive roles in corporate and investment management, managing sustainable and impact investment portfolios, as well as developing and implementing sustainability and net zero climate strategies.
Before joining Gresham House, Hyewon was Head of Responsible Investing at the Investment Management Corporation of Ontario (IMCO), where she spearheaded sustainable investment strategies and led ESG integration across public and private markets and all asset classes. Prior to this, she was Assistant Vice President and Head of ESG at AGF Investments, managing approximately $600 million through the firm’s global sustainable and impact investing strategies.
Hyewon has served on various boards and committees throughout her career, including as an Investment Committee member at The Atmospheric Fund (Ontario Government Province Endowment) and as an Environmental Finance Advisory Committee member at the University of Toronto. Currently, she is a member of the Board of Directors at the University of British Columbia (UBC) Investment Management and lectures on environmental finance and sustainable & impact investment courses.
Hyewon founded and chaired the Canadian Responsible Investment Working Group and was named as one of Canada’s Clean 50 leaders in 2020 for fostering collaboration within the financial industry to advance a sustainability agenda.
She holds a Master of Science in Environmental Policy from the University of Oxford and is a CFA charterholder.
Jay joined Gresham House in June 2025 as a Sustainable Investment consultant to lead Gresham House’s Net Zero and Nature Strategy development.
Before joining Gresham House, Jay was a Managing Director at Accenture, where he was the global lead for sustainability within Accenture’s private equity practice, advising PE financial sponsors and their portfolio companies on how to embed sustainability to unlock value throughout the deal lifecycle. Jay also co-led the UK Sustainable Financial Services business, supporting investment banks, asset managers and insurance companies develop sustainable investment products, services and strategies.
Prior to joining Accenture, Jay spent over 15 years as a sustainable investor. He started his career at a $1.3bn hedge fund in London within which he launched and co-managed a long-short portfolio investing across renewable energy, alternative energy technology, biofuel and carbon, before spending the next 10+ years in private markets from Base of the Pyramid venture capital in India, to sustainable real assets in APAC.
Jay holds a BA in Archaeology from UCL and is a CFA charterholder.
Rebecca joined Gresham House in July 2020 in the newly created role of Director, Sustainable Investment.
Previously, Rebecca worked as an ESG Strategist at Univest where she was responsible for setting a leading sustainability framework across Univest’s investment approach, as well as setting their sustainability objectives for the next five years. Prior to this, she worked at Hymans Robertson as an Investment Consultant and Responsible Investment (RI) adviser where she designed and developed their client RI proposition whilst working closely with a range of clients to enhance their approaches to RI and ESG.
Rebecca was shortlisted for the Professional Pensions 2019 Rising Star Adviser of the Year award for her work in sustainable investment and has raised awareness of sustainable investing by regularly speaking at industry events and writing a number of thought leadership pieces on this topic.
Rebecca holds a BSc in Mathematics with Economics from the University of Exeter, is a qualified actuary and has completed the Investment Management Certificate.
Ruth is an Investment Director in the Gresham House Sustainable Infrastructure Team. The move to asset management in 2020 marked a career change for Ruth who was previously a Senior Partner in a top 100 law firm leading the Energy and Projects team and a member of the firm’s management board.
The Sustainable Infrastructure team manage the BSIF Funds’ strategies, investing in new Sustainable infrastructure that can support and accelerate the innovative solutions required to address key environmental and societal challenges whilst also delivering attractive returns. Ruth is the co-fund Manager of the Gresham House Biodiversity Creation fund strategy, a dedicated vehicle to fund portfolio company, Environment Bank in establishing biodiversity rich habitat banks across England. Ruth is a Director of Environment Bank and two of the BSIF Funds’ waste portfolio companies.
Ruth trained and qualified at Wragge & Co (now Gowling WLR) and holds an LLB (Hons) from Birmingham University.
Peter is Managing Director of Gresham House’s Sustainable Infrastructure division and Co-Fund Manager for the firm’s British Sustainable Infrastructure Fund (BSIF) strategy. BSIF invests in real asset-based solutions for the key environmental and social challenges we face. He is also a member of the Gresham House Asset Management Board.
Prior to Gresham House, Peter led the investment and exit of the Sustainable Infrastructure-focused Environmental Capital Fund (ECF) for SEP, one of Europe’s most successful VC firms. With over 24 years of public and private equity investment, development and fund management experience, including two top-decile infrastructure fund exits, he has invested into and exited over 200 infrastructure and technology companies across all sectors with an equity value of over £2bn and capital value of c.£6bn.
Peter has had board member roles on over 90 investee companies and is a Senior Associate of the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL). Peter is also an active investor in early-stage sustainability companies and has planted his own Miyawaki Forest at home.
James joined Gresham House in May 2024 as Sustainable Investment Manager.
Before joining Gresham House, James worked at Jupiter Asset Management as an ESG analyst within the ESG Research & Integration team where he supported investment managers in embedding ESG into investment processes. His work primarily focused on, climate risk, biodiversity, human rights, and human capital as well as stewardship activities including engagement with investee companies, proxy voting and ensuring good governance. James supported the implementation of new sustainability related regulation and disclosure in addition to policy writing and report writing.
Prior to this, James worked within PwC’s Sustainability & Climate Change team for nearly 3 years on a variety of projects primarily specialising in ESG strategy for large corporates and Private Equity firms as well as corporate security strategy and health & safety. He spent time managing digital transformations and operational excellence productivity improvements for clients globally whilst supporting other areas of the firm on risk assurance and deals.
James holds a BA (Hons) in Anthropology and African Studies from the University of Birmingham, CFA certificate in ESG Investing, Certificate in Sustainable Business Strategy and NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety.
Jane joined Gresham House in July 2023 to work on the Sustainable Infrastructure team.
Prior to joining Gresham House, Jane worked as an Investment Analyst for the renewable energy fund at Temporis Capital focusing on investing in solar, wind and battery storage assets. Jane has also worked in project finance roles across core infrastructure and real estate finance whilst at Allied Irish Bank in Dublin.
Jane graduate from University College Dublin with a first class BSc (Hons) in Economics & Finance and is a CFA Charterholder.
Maddie joined Gresham House in December 2023 as a Sustainable Investment Analyst.
Before joining Gresham House, Maddie worked at Lombard Odier as a Quantitative Analyst within the Sustainable Investment Research team. Her work was focused primarily on physical risk modelling but also included assessing companies against sustainability criteria and most recently researching investable opportunities within nature including carbon credits and nature-based solutions. Prior to this, Maddie worked at Atkins Realis as a geospatial analyst, conducting analysis for environmental impact assessments of engineering projects.
Maddie holds and MSc in Geospatial Science and Remote Sensing and a first-class degree in Environmental Science, both from the University of Southampton.
Fiona joined the Baronsmead Venture Trust plc Board on 1 September 2021 as a Non-Executive Director and has been appointed as Chair in 2022.
Fiona is the CEO of Barts Charity a health foundation with a £550m financial investment and commercial property portfolio. Barts Charity funds transformational medical research and innovation in healthcare delivery and technology. Over the last five years, Barts has also allocated 25% of its portfolio to private equity and venture funds including early stage venture and life sciences funds.
Fiona brings to Baronsmead a wealth of experience, spanning over 25 years, in investing in and leading growth companies. Her early career was in finance and private equity at Goldman Sachs and Murray Johnson Private Equity, and she then had a successful entrepreneurial career prior to joining Barts Charity in 2016 including five years at Social Finance UK, a leading impact investing and advisory firm. Fiona is Trustee of John Lyons, Chair of Lifting Limits and sits on the Barts Life Sciences Advisory Board. Fiona has an MBA from INSEAD.
Hamza joined Gresham House as an Investment Manager within our Private Equity team in February 2023.
He has over three years of experience investing within the European and US venture ecosystem. Initially, as an Investment Associate at Columbia Lake Partners, a European growth capital fund focused on technology investments. He then worked within the venture capital arm of NJF Capital, a family office focused on early and growth stage investing across Europe and the US.
Hamza started his career in assurance at EY, where he completed his Chartered Accountancy (ACA) qualification.
He holds a BSc in Accounting and Finance from the University of Bristol.
Stevie joined Gresham House in January 2018 and works on both public and private transactions across the full range of funds, spending the majority of time working on the British Strategic Investment Fund in the Sustainable Infrastructure team.
Prior to Gresham House, Stevie worked for Lloyds Banking Group in their Leveraged Finance Team, following the completion of the graduate scheme where she gained exposure to a wide range of Capital Market products.
Stevie holds a BA (Hons) in Economics from Durham University and has passed CFA Level II.
David joined Gresham House in January 2022 as Fund Controller working on BSIF strategies within our Sustainable Infrastructure team.
Prior to joining Gresham House, David worked as an Audit and Corporate Finance Manager at Magma Chartered Accountants, specialising in full audit services across SME owner-managed businesses, renewable energy companies, fund accounting and auditing of international listed groups.
David has 10 years’ experience working in the financial services industry.
Mathangi joined Gresham House in January 2023 and is an Investment Manager in the Sustainable Infrastructure team.
Prior to joining Gresham House, Mathangi worked at an impact venture capital fund in India as an investment fellow where she was responsible for setting up the fund along with building the fund’s investment thesis and deal pipeline. Prior to that she was part of EY India’s Financial Due Diligence team.
Mathangi has seven years of work experience in the industry and is a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. She also holds an MBA from HEC Paris with a specialisation in Finance.
Tim joined Gresham House in February 2025 as an Investment Associate in the Sustainable Infrastructure team.
Prior to this, Tim worked in strategy at a private equity portfolio company and was a Senior Associate at a boutique merchant bank in Sydney, where he focussed on private capital investments and advisory in the APAC region.
Tim began his career in investment banking at Credit Suisse, advising on M&A transactions across multiple sectors including Renewable Energy, Digital Infrastructure, Industrials and TMT.
Tim has over 5 years of experience in finance and holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) from The Australian National University.
Hiroki joined Gresham House in April 2025 as a Portfolio Analyst in the Sustainable Infrastructure Fund.
He has over five years of experience, most recently as an Associate at Long Harbour Ltd., a real estate private equity firm. There, he led financial modelling and underwriting for residential investments. He also supported capital raising, corporate transactions, and developed tools to monitor fund performance.
Hiroki began his career at BDO UK LLP, where he worked in audit across a wide range of clients—including private companies, charities, and public sector bodies—and further worked in transaction services within the real assets sector.
He is a Chartered Accountant (ACA), has passed all three levels of the CFA Program, and holds an MA in Psychology and Philosophy from the University of Edinburgh.
Andy has over 20 years’ industry experience and joined Gresham House in October 2019 after spending two years at BNP Paribas. Prior to this he spent six years as investment sales director at BNY Mellon, focusing on family offices and the London discretionary market.
He has also worked in the business development team at Skandia Investment Management, helping launch the Spectrum range of funds. He holds a BA (Hons) in Economics, the CFA Certificate in Investment Management, the CFA Certificate in ESG Investing, the CII Certificate In Discretionary Investment Management, the CII Certificate in Investment Operations and the CII Diploma in Financial Planning.
Tony has been Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Gresham House since December 2014. He chairs the Investment Committees of Gresham House and Strategic Equity Capital plc and is a Non-Executive Director for Gresham House Asset Management Ireland Limited.
Tony led the management buy-in and established a new management team that transformed the firm from an investment trust into the specialist asset manager it is today.
Tony has a long track record of investing and advising numerous public and private equity businesses. From 2002 to 2011, he established and grew SVG Investment Managers before being asked to lead SVG Advisors (formerly Schroder Ventures, London) as CEO. He started his career at Phillips & Drew Fund Management (later UBS Global Asset Management), one of the UK’s most prominent value investment firms with £60bn in assets under management at its peak and where he was a member of the Investment Committee. He was also previously Chair of the LPFA Investment Panel and Non-executive Board member.
Tony has over 25 years of investment experience and holds an MA in Management Studies from the University of Cambridge (where he was also a junior rugby international and Blue).
Rob joined Gresham House in November 2015. He is a member of the Forestry Investment Committee.
Rob joined the group from Aitchesse Ltd where he was a Company Director for two years and Head of Acquisitions for three years. Prior to joining Aitchesse Ltd, Rob spent five years at CNBC Europe as a technical analyst covering financial news. Following this, he was managing his own consultancy business specialising in carbon management and commercial forestry for two years. Rob has 11 years of investment experience in the commercial forestry sector, investing in the UK and globally.
He holds a Master’s degree in environmental economics from Glasgow University and a Bachelor of Art in engineering from Southampton Solent University.
Maya joined Gresham House in September 2019, having spent 4 years at Octopus Investments, investing in real estate-backed healthcare companies and entrepreneurs.
Prior to that she worked at KPMG for 7 years in audit and corporate finance.
She has a first class degree in Modern History from Oxford and is a Chartered Accountant.
Chris is a Managing Director in the Wholesale Distribution team and joined Gresham House in July 2021.
Prior to this he was Head of Strategic Partnerships at LGBR Capital where he focused on developing key strategic relationships in the UK discretionary market. He was one of the founding members of LGBR Capital, helping to grow the business from launch in 2012 into one of the largest outsourced distributors in the UK.
Chris previously held business development and client relationship positions at Matrix Asset Management and Goldman Sachs.
Chris has 14 years’ industry experience and holds a BSc (Hons) in Economics from Queen Mary, University of London. He is a CAIA Charterholder and has passed both the Certificate in ESG Investing and the Investment Management Certificate from the CFA Society of the UK.
Cassie is an Associate Director in the Public Equity team, having joined Gresham House in July 2021.
Cassie works across all 3 Gresham House opened-ended funds, Strategic Equity Capital plc and the AIM portfolio within the Baronsmead VCTs. Cassie develops and executes on high conviction new investment ideas, as well as managing portfolio holdings and actively engaging with management teams. Besides avoidance of cyclical sectors, Cassie has sector agnostic approach to investing, with a small-cap bias focused on areas of structural growth.
Prior to joining Gresham House, Cassie was part of the Corporate Broking team at Citi, after having started her career at Investec. Cassie graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2015, before completing an MSc at the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Matt joined the Mobeus VCT team in 2019 as a Venture Partner working across their VCT investments. He has over 20 years’ experience in early stage and scale-up technology investing.
Previous roles include Corporate Finance at EY, a Partner in 3i’s technology investment business, and Chief Investment Officer roles at the National Endowment for Science Technology and the Arts (NESTA) and Mercia Technologies plc.
Isabel’s career investing equity in infrastructure worldwide includes billion-dollar private funds for AIG in Asia, ABN AMRO in Europe and pension schemes in the UK. She has served as a non-executive representing transport users across the UK and at Heathrow Airport.
Isabel is also a director of Schroder Oriental Income Fund Limited and Utilico Emerging Markets Trust plc. Fluent in Mandarin Chinese, Isabel has an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, a Master in Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy School, and a BA in economics from the Ohio State University. She has worked in the US, Hong Kong, and for the last 20 years in London.
George joined the Public Equity investment team at Gresham House permanently in January 2024 having previously undertaken an internship from May 2023. George works across all three open-ended funds and the investment trust within the Public Equity division, conducting sector-agnostic equity research to generate and execute on new investment ideas and support portfolio management.
Prior to joining Gresham House, George worked for a private European fintech company, providing technology services to UK fund managers investing in emerging markets. He then completed the CFA Level 1 in February 2023.
George graduated from Cambridge University with a History degree and three academic awards in July 2022.
Jack joined the Private Equity team as an Investment Manager in November 2024.
Prior to joining, Jack spent 4 years investing in buyout and growth opportunities, primarily within the healthcare and energy sectors.
Before this, he worked at Baringa Partners as a management consultant where he supported private equity clients on strategy and due diligence projects.
Jack holds a first-class degree in Natural Sciences from UCL.
Eoin joined the team in November 2024 as Director of Global Natural Capital.
With over 12 years of experience in institutional Natural Capital investing, Eoin brings substantial expertise to his role.
Before joining Gresham House, he led GreenAgCapital, a specialist investment management firm focused on vertically integrated investments within the food and agriculture sector.
Prior to this, he headed the U.S. Portfolio Management team within Nuveen Natural Capital’s farmland business, where he oversaw the firm’s investments, ESG strategy, and new product development.
Eoin began his career at Insight Investment, a BNYM affiliate, in London, first as an analyst and subsequently as a portfolio manager, responsible for the oversight and performance of Insight’s global farmland investments.
Eoin holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering from Trinity College Dublin and a Master’s degree in Risk Management and Financial Regulation from Queen’s University Belfast.
Elise joined Gresham House in June 2024 to focus on the acquisition and asset management of international commercial and carbon forestry assets.
She brings 4 years of experience in climate-focused investing, including specialised knowledge in agriculture, water and carbon. Prior to Gresham House, Elise was an Investment Analyst for the Mackenzie Greenchip Global Environmental All Cap fund at Mackenzie Investments in Canada. Elise holds first-class bachelor degrees in Biology and Business from Western University, and an MSc in Climate Change, Management and Finance from Imperial College London.

Alex focuses on originating and executing new investments in high growth technology businesses. He brings to the team over 14 years’ experience in growth equity, private equity and corporate finance across the European and Canadian markets. Prior to joining Gresham House, Alex was a General Partner at PROPELR Growth, a Toronto-based growth equity fund where he served on the boards of several privately traded as well as listed Canadian businesses including Field Effect Software and Tribe Property Technologies.
Previously, Alex was an Executive Director at Goldman Sachs in the Principal Investment Area, the private equity investing arm of GSAM, based in London, UK. He has also held private equity and corporate finance roles at Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan and RBC Capital Markets.
Alex holds an MBA from INSEAD and an HBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario. In his free time he is an avid violinist, bass guitarist and ice hockey player.
Jenny joined Gresham House in January 2025 as an Analyst in the Institutional Sales team.
Prior to joining, Jenny spent a year at Allianz Global Investors and was part of the private infrastructure debt investing team. She also completed an internship at Goldman Sachs Asset Management in 2022.
She holds a BSc (Hons) degree in Economics from The University of Warwick having graduated in 2023.

Justin is a qualified Chartered Accountant with extensive financial, investing and private equity experience across a number of sectors. Between 1995 and 2010 he worked for CVC Capital Partners, Hermes Private Equity and Bridgepoint Development Capital leading growth equity and private equity buyout transactions and has subsequently made a number of angel investments in technology businesses. Justin has served on the board of a number of private companies as Non-Executive director and is currently Non-Executive Director at School Explained Limited. He is also a Non-Executive Director on the board of Hargreave Hale AIM VCT plc and Chairman of the Audit Committee. Justin is the Chairman of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee and Investment Committee of the Company.

Emily joined Gresham House in 2019 as a Team Personal Assistant, responsible for assisting the Operations, HR, Legal, Compliance, Marketing, Distribution and Sustainable Investment teams, before moving into the HR team as HR Executive in 2022, and further promoted to HR Associate in 2025. Emily provides generalist HR support across the group.
Prior to joining Gresham House, Emily spent five years in Hong Kong working in marketing, customer service and lifestyle management roles at Quintessentially and Bloom & Grow.
Emily holds a BA (Hons) in Events Management from Leeds Beckett University and a CIPD Associate Diploma in People Management.
Lizet joined Gresham House in November 2017 as Finance Manager following the acquisition of Hazel Capital. She is responsible for Finance Business Partnering for Energy Transition and Sustainable Infrastructure.
Lizet has more than 18 years of accounting experience in both internal and external audit. She previously worked for six years in the French office of CNA, the leading European specialist commercial insurer. She began her career with EY, spending four years in the Dutch and Belgian offices. She studied for a BSc in Accounting at Nyenrode University in the Netherlands and holds a BBA in Economics from Avans Hogeschool Breda.
Ed is an Investment Director and Head of Fund Management for the Forestry Division at Gresham House, overseeing c.£1bn of equity capital allocated to sustainable investments. Ed manages several funds and is primarily responsible for recommending and implementing fund strategy, portfolio construction and investor reporting. His role also involves the valuation of UK forestry assets and overseeing fund deal flows.
Ed joined Gresham House in May 2018 following the acquisition of FIM Services Ltd. Ed worked at FIM Services Ltd as an Assistant Fund Manager from 2012 and was appointed Fund Manager in 2016.
Ed has 14 years of experience and holds a postgraduate diploma (PG Dip) in Financial Strategy from Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, and a RICS accredited BA (Hons) in Real Estate from Oxford Brookes University. He is a qualified Chartered Surveyor and a RICS Registered Valuer. He is registered with the Financial Conduct Authority.
Sharan joined Gresham House in April 2021. Prior to this he spent four years at Octopus Investments, where he focused on renewable energy investment transactions (£165mn closed) and fundraising (£600mn closed).
He has six years’ experience in finance, with a BSc (Hons) in Business Management from King’s College London and an MSc from Imperial College London in Economics and Strategy.
He also has four years’ experience working on a technology start-up, which he co-founded while at university.
Sharan used to play chess for Great Britain.
William joined Gresham House in January 2022 and is a Associate Director in the Forestry team.
Prior to Gresham House, William worked at Tilhill, advising clients on commercial forestry and woodland investments, new woodland creation, woodland carbon investment, and portfolio modelling for individual and institutional investors.
Before this, he spent five years at J.P. Morgan Asset Management, managing low-risk European equity portfolios, including launching and co-managing a sustainable equity fund. He has also worked at KPMG Corporate Finance, focusing on long-term project finance investments. He spent his early career as an infantry officer in the British Army.
William holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Oxford, a Master’s degree in Environmental and Forest Management from the University of Aberdeen, and is a CFA Charterholder. He also has a year of postgraduate research experience at Newcastle University, focused on tropical forest carbon cycling, ecosystem functioning and biodiversity relationships.
Donald joined Gresham House in July 2022 as an Investment Manager in Harvesting. He is responsible for the marketing and management of timber sales.
Prior to joining Gresham House, Donald was a Harvesting Manager for a sawmilling business and was involved in the purchase and management of timber harvesting.
He has over eight years of experience in the forestry industry and holds a BSc in Sustainable Forest Management from the University of the Highlands and Islands.
Donald also qualified as a Professional Member of the Institute of Chartered Foresters in 2022.
Ana joined Gresham House in September 2022 and is responsible for implementing the EPCM structure and delivering the Energy Transition team’s project pipeline.
Ana is a multi-skilled professional with 12 years of experience delivering innovative, award-winning renewable energy projects in the UK.
Previously, Ana helped to establish quality management, project delivery, and commercial project functions at GRIDSERVE Sustainable Energy. She also successfully delivered the UK’s first Electric Forecourt and subsidy-free solar and battery storage hybrid projects with bi-facial panels and tracking technology. Before joining GRIDSERVE, Ana was part of the BELECTRIC projects team building utility-scale solar farms.
Joe joined Gresham House in September 2022 and is now CEO for Gresham House in Ireland.
His 30-year career spans forestry, manufacturing, energy and technology. With some short spells in the Public Sector, he has spent most of his career in StartUp and Scaling businesses. Having sold a bioenergy business to a multi-disciplinary energy company in 2014 he set up and ran its solar and biomass division. In 2016, he was appointed Chief Commercial Officer for the Group, with responsibility for EBITDA growth across the energy trading, power marketing, asset management and energy solutions businesses as well as developing a pipeline of pre-qualified development opportunities in offshore wind, onshore wind, solar, biomass and energy storage.
Joe holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Science from University College Dublin and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from University College Cork. He recently completed a Diploma in Company Direction as part of the IoD Chartered Directors’ Programme.
He is a Climate Reality Leader with Al Gore’s Climate Reality Project and a Member of the Jury of the European Innovation in Politics Institute. He is an active investor in early-stage Technology companies, particularly in the eMobility, EdTech and FinTech sectors.
He is on the Board of Directors of the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland and also sits on its Audit & Risk Committee.
Simon joined Gresham House in December 2022.
Simon has over 25 years’ experience in corporate advisory, private equity, M&A, debt advisory, strategic business planning, performance improvement and board governance. He has led over a dozen successful private equity exits and is an experienced non-executive director.
Before joining Gresham House, Simon was a Partner, Head of Portfolio and member of the Investment Committee at Bowmark Capital. He also co-chaired the Exit and Valuations Committees. Prior to that, he was Senior Portfolio Director at Lloyds Development Capital.
Before his career in private equity, Simon spent nearly 20 years as an advisor, initially at KPMG in Birmingham before moving to Deloitte in 2005. At Deloitte, Simon was a Partner and Head of UK regional Corporate Advisory, a business he established to advise fast growing mid-market privately owned and private equity backed businesses across the UK regions.
During his time as an advisor, Simon completed several corporate secondments in board level roles to help companies including a large construction company, multinational airline, global consumer product manufacturer, football league club and UK based listed retailer. He also has extensive international experience, including a two-year secondment to Melbourne Australia with Deloitte. Simon has worked across a variety of sectors, in particular healthcare, education, retail, TMT, infrastructure and construction.
Simon is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICAEW). He holds a Bachelor of Social Science (B.Soc.Sc) degree in Money, Banking and Finance from the University of Birmingham.
Baroness Natalie Evans of Bowes Park is a Conservative member of the House of Lords. She was appointed as a life peer in October 2014 and was Leader of the House of Lords and a member of the UK Government’s Cabinet between 2016 and 2022 – the longest serving Leader for 70 years.
Between 2015 and 2016 she was a junior Government minister in the Department of Education, Department for Work and Pensions, and the Ministry of Justice. Before entering the House of Lords, Natalie held a variety of senior positions including CEO of the New Schools Network, Deputy Director of Policy Exchange, and Head of Policy at the British Chambers of Commerce.
Chris joined Gresham House in August 2023.

Before joining Gresham House, Chris spent seven years as a Portfolio Director at Lloyds Development Capital where he worked with around 30 businesses across a broad range of sectors including IT services and unified communications, business services, educational support services, construction, manufacturing, logistics and financial services to deliver numerous successful acquisitions and exits.
Prior to his career in private equity, Chris spent 15 years at Deloitte LLP as an advisor to UK mid-market board teams, shareholders, private equity investors and lenders. During this time, Chris also undertook a secondment at a major UK high street lender, gaining first-hand experience of credit and internal banking procedures, debt and security structures.
Chris is a Chartered Accountant (ICAEW) and holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nottingham.
Dorian joined Gresham House in December 2023 as an Investment Manager within the Forestry Division covering acquisition and asset management of commercial and carbon forestry assets both in the UK and Internationally.
Prior to Gresham House, Dorian spent five years at Sail Ventures, an alternatives investment firm base in the Netherlands, where he was part of the founding team of a global climate fund (&Green) focused on sustainable agriculture and forestry which scaled to over US$ 400 million. As a senior investment specialist in a lean team, Dorian was primarily focused on growing Sail’s portfolio and was responsible for structuring investments with embedded ESG features, catering to both early-stage pre-profit enterprises and more established multibillion dollar listed companies globally. He was also involved in fund management and fundraising activities. During his tenure at Sail, the firm received the Asset Manager of the Year award from Environmental Finance on two occasions.
Dorian is also affiliated with the University of Oxford’s Environmental Change Institute, where he advises on financing and scaling investment into Nature Based Solutions (NBS). He has undertaken published research on NBS focused funds and participated in mapping nature and climate risks to the financial system as part of the Nature-Climate Scenarios and Analytics for Financial Decision-Making (INCAF) project for the Bank of England.
Dorian holds a first-class Bachelor of Business Science in Finance and Accounting and Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting (Hons) from the University of Cape Town as well as a first-class MSc in Climate Change, Management, and Finance from Imperial College London. He is a CFA Charterholder.
Matthew joined Gresham House in July 2024. Prior to this he spent 3.5 years at HSBC where he worked across the Natural Resources sector team and Real Assets Finance team, focusing on renewables, power & utilities, energy and infrastructure transactions.
He has over 3.5 years of experience in finance, with a degree in Law and a degree in Accounting (BAcc LLB) from Stellenbosch University.
Matthew is a Fellow of the Allan Gray Orbis Foundation.
Owen joined Gresham House in October 2024 as a Project Development Manager. He is responsible for ensuring our portfolio of storage and renewable projects in development are at an excellent standard, ready for investment and construction.
Prior to Gresham House, Owen worked as a Project Manager at EDF Renewables where he was responsible for the development of standalone BESS and PV/BESS hybrid projects in GB. Before this, he worked as an Energy Storage Analyst at ib Vogt GmbH developing an origination pipeline of BESS projects across 7 global markets. With over three years of experience in the energy storage sector, Owen has a strong understanding of end-to-end project development and what it takes to produce high-quality renewable infrastructure investments.
Owen holds a BEng in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Birmingham and an MSc in Sustainable Energy Futures from Imperial College London.
Otto joined Gresham House in February 2025 as an analyst in the Global Natural Capital team.
Prior to this, he completed a 6-month internship in the Sustainable Investment team.
Otto holds a BSc (Hons) in Biology from the University of St Andrews, having graduated in 2024.
Pamela joined Gresham House in March 2025 and provides support to the Housing, Marketing, and Sustainable Investments teams.
Before joining Gresham House, Pamela worked as an Executive Assistant at PwC, where she supported Partners within the Financial Services sector. Additionally, she has experience as an Events Coordinator, having collaborated with several businesses across London.
Ian has over 30 years of experience in sales and marketing, spanning senior corporate roles and work with startups and scale-ups. His career highlights include serving as Commercial Director at ITV Digital (now Freeview) and Group Sales Director for a division of Deutsche Telekom.
Twenty years ago, Ian founded RSC Associates, a consultancy specialising in sales turnaround, team setup, due diligence (pre-deal and post-term), pipeline management, process optimisation, and performance management. Ian believes sales principles are universal and begins every engagement with a comprehensive audit, followed by tailored recommendations. Clients often retain him to implement these strategies, driving measurable outcomes.
With significant expertise in sustainability sectors—including biofuels, LED technology, anaerobic digestion, and biodiversity offset—Ian remains hands-on in deal structuring, win themes, and bid writing. RSC Associates also includes a team of fractional consultants specialising in business development, SDR functions, social media, and CRM optimisation.
Ian’s proactive approach and extensive network consistently deliver tangible growth and lasting value for clients across industries.
Ellie joined Gresham House in May 2025 as Senior PA to the Sustainable Infrastructure team.
She brings a unique background that began with a career as a professional musician in 2015, before moving into the field of strategic communications. Ellie has worked with Managing Directors and assisted senior leadership teams and is highly experienced in executive support, stakeholder engagement, collaborating with multilateral organisations.
Ellie’s diverse experience enables her to support fast-paced, mission-driven teams with efficiency, creativity, and discretion. She holds a BA (Hons) in Music from the University of Oxford and a Masters in Music Performance from the Royal Northern College of Music.
Carole oversees Gresham House’s renewable assets portfolio and acts as Fund Manager for one of the wind funds.
Carole joined Gresham House as part of the FIM Services Ltd integration, and has been involved in the origination, financing, construction and management of all of the previously FIM-branded renewable assets.
Prior to joining FIM, Carole worked across several sectors including technology, software and travel as a Finance and Operations Director following qualification as a Chartered Management Accountant.
Cathy is a legal adviser who has specialised in the investment company sector for over 20 years. Cathy is currently a Partner at CMS, a top global law firm. Prior to this, she worked in the asset management practice of another top global law firm for almost 20 years, 8 of which as a Partner.
Cathy’s work has encompassed investment fund structuring and fundraising for domestic and international investment funds. Cathy is also a member of the Law Society Company Law Committee and sits on the Regulatory and Governance Committees of LPeC, the industry association for listed private capital funds.
Gill spent the majority of the first 27 years of her career working in the energy sector, becoming CEO of ProShare in 1994. She spent six years on the Board of the FSA, from 1998-2004. Gill has held a portfolio of non‐executive positions, including roles with a number of VCTs and other closed‐end funds, over the last 15 years. She was also a board member of the AIC from 2004-2014.
She is currently a non‐executive director of Premier Global Infrastructure Trust plc and PGIT Securities 2020 plc.
David Hunter qualified as a Chartered Accountant with PWC before joining 3i, the FT100 listed private equity group where he became Managing Director of Investment Management responsible for the entire UK portfolio of assets.
David is Chairman of UCLB which, with commercial funding, manages all technology transfer and resulting investments/licenses for University College London. David’s other interests include Treasurer at Motability, the charity that oversees the disabled car scheme and has a £1bn plus endowment and Chair of the Audit Committee at Big Society Capital.
Past roles have included Chair of the Audit Committee of one of the Baronsmead family of listed venture capital trust ,membership of the Bridges Ventures Investment Committee, Chair of the Strategic Finance Committee at Age UK and Chair of the Development Committee at PA Housing.
Christian was closely involved in establishing both Hazel Renewable Energy VCTs, whilst a Partner at Hazel Capital LLP from 2009-2012. Having started his career in financial services in 1988 he has worked for a number of investment houses; holding senior positions at Bear Stearns Asset Management, Julius Baer, Chase Asset Management and Lazard Asset Management.
Until recently he was active, both as an investor and developer, in the field of renewable energy. Currently, he is concentrating on building a sizeable UK self‐storage business with a focus on re-purposing redundant buildings in urban conurbations. He is also a director of a Bristol and London-based financial planner and wealth manager, has a small farming business and sits on the board of a military charity.
Matthew was a founding partner of LGT Vestra in 2007, where he ran the ventures team, focusing on renewables, unlisted commercial property and private equity investments. Prior to that, he ran the financial planning department at PwC in London.
More recently, Matthew founded CH1 Investment Partners LLP, which provides bespoke investment solutions to high net worth, professional and sophisticated investors. He is also a director of several other businesses, including Longhedge Renewables, Lake District Biogas Limited and Osprey Solar.
