Searchlight's acquisition of Gresham House plc

We are delighted to announce that today Gresham House begins a new chapter in its growth story. The acquisition by Searchlight Capital Partners, announced in July, is complete and Gresham House plc is now a privately owned company. This is an exciting time for us and we enter 2024 with heightened ambition for our clients across all our asset classes.

We are very pleased that Searchlight, a partner with extensive experience in financial services, has chosen to be a part of our story, based on our people, our plans, and our performance, and is fully committed to our current strategy and to the continuity of client service excellence.

Since the management buy-in in late 2014, Gresham House has been transformed from a loss-making investment company into a profitable, leading specialist alternative asset manager with Assets Under Management (AUM) of approximately £8.3 billion, focused on sustainable investments.

Gresham House actively manages these assets on behalf of institutions, charities and endowments, family offices, private individuals and their advisers, across forestry, real estate, sustainable infrastructure, renewable energy, battery storage and public and private equity.

Our new ownership structure will enable us to accelerate our growth ambitions and increase opportunities for continuing strong investment returns across multiple strategies, asset classes and regions, as we extend our footprint within and beyond the UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand.

As we move forward with the same talented team of employees and our entrepreneurial culture, we look forward to delivering the superior investment performance, quality service provision and non-financial returns clients have come to expect, and to making a positive contribution on the journey to net zero and towards a more sustainable future for society and the environment.
