Eoin joined the team in November 2024 as Director of Global Natural Capital.
With over 12 years of experience in institutional Natural Capital investing, Eoin brings substantial expertise to his role.
Before joining Gresham House, he led GreenAgCapital, a specialist investment management firm focused on vertically integrated investments within the food and agriculture sector.
Prior to this, he headed the U.S. Portfolio Management team within Nuveen Natural Capital’s farmland business, where he oversaw the firm’s investments, ESG strategy, and new product development.
Eoin began his career at Insight Investment, a BNYM affiliate, in London, first as an analyst and subsequently as a portfolio manager, responsible for the oversight and performance of Insight’s global farmland investments.
Eoin holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering from Trinity College Dublin and a Master’s degree in Risk Management and Financial Regulation from Queen’s University Belfast.
Olly Hughes has been Managing Director and an Investment Committee member of our Forestry division since January 2019. He is responsible for managing the growth and development of Gresham House’s forestry activities including acquisitions, fund and private client management and forestry asset management.
Prior to joining Gresham House, Olly was a Partner and Head of Infrastructure at Oxford Capital for six years where he built and managed a portfolio of over £300mn of solar and wind renewable energy assets. He started his career at ING Barings in 1995 focusing on asset backed structuring and since then has focused his career on real asset investment management.
Olly has over 26 years of investment experience and holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Master’s degree from the University of Oxford in Biological Science. He also obtained the Investment Management Certificate from the CFA Society in the UK.
David Gardner has been CIO, Forestry and a member of the Forestry Investment Committee at Gresham House since May 2020.
He joined from Global Forest Partners LP, a US based timber management and investment company, where he worked from 2009 to 2019. David was responsible for developing the company’s international growth as well as supporting the management of the existing forestry investments. While at Global Forest Partners, David served as an Investment Director as well as being a partner and serving on the Investment Committee. Prior to that, he was President of Asia Pacific (Forest Industry) at the international management consulting firm Poyry, based in Singapore.
David has over 30 years of experience in the global forest industry, with the last ten years focused on international institutional investment and asset management in forestry.
David holds a Bachelor of Science, a Master’s degree in Forestry and is an MBA graduate from Cranfield University.
Ruth is an Investment Director in the Gresham House Sustainable Infrastructure Team. The move to asset management in 2020 marked a career change for Ruth who was previously a Senior Partner in a top 100 law firm leading the Energy and Projects team and a member of the firm’s management board.
The Sustainable Infrastructure team manage the BSIF Funds’ strategies, investing in new Sustainable infrastructure that can support and accelerate the innovative solutions required to address key environmental and societal challenges whilst also delivering attractive returns. Ruth is the co-fund Manager of the Gresham House Biodiversity Creation fund strategy, a dedicated vehicle to fund portfolio company, Environment Bank in establishing biodiversity rich habitat banks across England. Ruth is a Director of Environment Bank and two of the BSIF Funds’ waste portfolio companies.
Ruth trained and qualified at Wragge & Co (now Gowling WLR) and holds an LLB (Hons) from Birmingham University.
Jay joined Gresham House in June 2025 as a Sustainable Investment consultant to lead Gresham House’s Net Zero and Nature Strategy development.
Before joining Gresham House, Jay was a Managing Director at Accenture, where he was the global lead for sustainability within Accenture’s private equity practice, advising PE financial sponsors and their portfolio companies on how to embed sustainability to unlock value throughout the deal lifecycle. Jay also co-led the UK Sustainable Financial Services business, supporting investment banks, asset managers and insurance companies develop sustainable investment products, services and strategies.
Prior to joining Accenture, Jay spent over 15 years as a sustainable investor. He started his career at a $1.3bn hedge fund in London within which he launched and co-managed a long-short portfolio investing across renewable energy, alternative energy technology, biofuel and carbon, before spending the next 10+ years in private markets from Base of the Pyramid venture capital in India, to sustainable real assets in APAC.
Jay holds a BA in Archaeology from UCL and is a CFA charterholder.
Rebecca joined Gresham House in July 2020 in the newly created role of Director, Sustainable Investment.
Previously, Rebecca worked as an ESG Strategist at Univest where she was responsible for setting a leading sustainability framework across Univest’s investment approach, as well as setting their sustainability objectives for the next five years. Prior to this, she worked at Hymans Robertson as an Investment Consultant and Responsible Investment (RI) adviser where she designed and developed their client RI proposition whilst working closely with a range of clients to enhance their approaches to RI and ESG.
Rebecca was shortlisted for the Professional Pensions 2019 Rising Star Adviser of the Year award for her work in sustainable investment and has raised awareness of sustainable investing by regularly speaking at industry events and writing a number of thought leadership pieces on this topic.
Rebecca holds a BSc in Mathematics with Economics from the University of Exeter, is a qualified actuary and has completed the Investment Management Certificate.
Claire joined Gresham House in August 2023 as Head of Business Development in the UK and Irish Institutional market.
Prior to Gresham House, Claire worked at Schroders for ten years and held positions as Head of Sustainability UK and Co-Head of the UK Institutional Business.
Claire started her career at M&G Investments, before moving to Baring Asset Management where she spent 11 years with the last six years in a UK Institutional Business Development role.
Claire is IMC qualified and has obtained the CFA ESG certificate.
Otto joined Gresham House in February 2025 as an analyst in the Global Natural Capital team.
Prior to this, he completed a 6-month internship in the Sustainable Investment team.
Otto holds a BSc (Hons) in Biology from the University of St Andrews, having graduated in 2024.
Will joined Gresham House in January 2022 and is an Investment Director in the Forestry team responsible for UK forestry and natural capital acquisitions.
Will has over 12 years’ experience in sustainable investment and natural capital. Having started his career in project finance at KPMG, and after a period as an infantry officer in the British Army, Will then moved into sustainable finance at J.P. Morgan Asset Management where he launched a sustainable equity fund and managed low-risk European equity portfolios. After returning to university to study at postgraduate level, Will worked for a leading UK Forest manager, advising on commercial forestry and woodland investments, new woodland creation, woodland carbon investment, and portfolio modelling for individual and institutional investors. Will subsequently joined the UK forestry acquisitions team at Gresham House in 2022, underwriting investments into UK forestry and natural capital assets for Gresham’s UK clients and discretionary funds.
William holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Oxford, a Master’s degree in Environmental and Forest Management from the University of Aberdeen, and is a CFA Charterholder. He also has a year of postgraduate research experience at Newcastle University, focused on tropical forest carbon cycling, ecosystem functioning and biodiversity relationships.
As Sustainable Investment Director, Hyewon leads Gresham House’s Sustainable Investment team and strategy, driving environmental, social and governance (ESG) efforts across the firm and its investment strategies.
With over 20 years of global experience spanning Asia, Europe and North America, Hyewon has held senior executive roles in corporate and investment management, managing sustainable and impact investment portfolios, as well as developing and implementing sustainability and net zero climate strategies.
Before joining Gresham House, Hyewon was Head of Responsible Investing at the Investment Management Corporation of Ontario (IMCO), where she spearheaded sustainable investment strategies and led ESG integration across public and private markets and all asset classes. Prior to this, she was Assistant Vice President and Head of ESG at AGF Investments, managing approximately $600 million through the firm’s global sustainable and impact investing strategies.
Hyewon has served on various boards and committees throughout her career, including as an Investment Committee member at The Atmospheric Fund (Ontario Government Province Endowment) and as an Environmental Finance Advisory Committee member at the University of Toronto. Currently, she is a member of the Board of Directors at the University of British Columbia (UBC) Investment Management and lectures on environmental finance and sustainable & impact investment courses.
Hyewon founded and chaired the Canadian Responsible Investment Working Group and was named as one of Canada’s Clean 50 leaders in 2020 for fostering collaboration within the financial industry to advance a sustainability agenda.
She holds a Master of Science in Environmental Policy from the University of Oxford and is a CFA charterholder.
