In a run-of-the-mill recession, the fall in profits is recovered fairly quickly and the shortfall of earnings is not very meaningful.
A recession that occurs alongside a debt crisis is a different matter. These recessions are deep enough and long enough to drive a large number of companies into bankruptcy. Most recessions are not of that sort and we do not believe that this one will be.
