Gresham House appoints Olly Hughes as Managing Director of Forestry

Gresham House, the specialist alternative asset manager, announces the appointment of Olly Hughes as Managing Director, Forestry.

 

Olly has over 20 years of experience working in the finance sector with a focus on real assets strategies. He joins Gresham House from Oxford Capital Partners LLP where he was Head of Infrastructure.

During the five years under his leadership, the infrastructure and real assets under management grew from just short of £20m to over £300m.

Prior to Oxford Capital, Olly was Managing Director and founder at Vigor Renewables. He was also formerly Chief Executive Officer of an investment banking joint venture between Devonshire Capital and Kiatnakin Finance and Securities for 5 years.

He started his career with Baring Brothers then ING Barings where he spent over a decade in Asia focusing on designing and developing asset backed transaction structures across various regulatory jurisdictions.

Olly will be responsible for leading Gresham House’s Forestry division and joins the business in February 2019.

Gresham House has been growing its forestry expertise and currently manages over 110,000 hectares of forests on behalf of institutions, endowments, family offices and private investors. Gresham House is the UK’s largest commercial forestry manager, harvesting circa 10% of the UK’s total softwood annually.
