Gresham House, the global specialist alternative asset manager, has appointed Alexander Küpers as Head of Institutional Distribution, DACH. He will strengthen the team at the firm’s new Frankfurt office. In addition, Rogier van Harten has been appointed Head of Benelux & Nordics Distribution.
Both appointments reflect Gresham House’s continued global expansion as the firm deepens its institutional client coverage across Europe. Alongside the growth of its distribution platform, the recent acquisitions of SUSI Partners and Molpus Woodlands Group (subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals) mean that Gresham House now has a truly global footprint and has broadened its suite of institutional solutions and operations across the UK, Europe, Asia and North America.
Alexander joins the firm with an impressive fundraising and client partnership track record across real estate, infrastructure and alternative assets. He joins from KGAL Investment Management, where as Head of Institutional Business Germany, he held leadership and strategic responsibility for the firm’s core revenue base, covering more than 120 institutional investors across more than 27 funds, club deals and separately managed accounts. Prior to KGAL, Alexander served as Vice President, Professional Clients at WealthCap (UniCredit Group), where he developed German and Luxembourg-based fund and debt structures for institutional investors, building relationships with insurance, pension funds and endowments.
Rogier brings more than 25 years of institutional asset management experience and deep relationships across the Benelux market. He was most recently Head of Institutional Distribution EMEA (ex-UK) at Columbia Threadneedle Investments, a role he assumed following the acquisition of BMO Global Asset Management, where was Head of Institutional Distribution & Client Management, Continental Europe. In these roles, he led and integrated multi-country sales and client teams, driving coverage across equities, fixed income, real estate and fiduciary mandates. Prior to BMO, Rogier held a number of leadership roles at BNP Paribas Asset Management and Fortis Investments.
Tony Dalwood, CEO of Gresham House, comments:
“These appointments mark yet another important step in building out our European institutional distribution platform. We are seeing growing appetite from institutional investors across the Europe for exposure to our pioneering and innovative investment strategies in natural capital, energy transition and sustainable infrastructure. These are long-duration, real-asset strategies with compelling risk-adjusted returns, and they are increasingly central to how European institutions are thinking about their alternatives allocations.
“Alexander and Rogier bring the experience and calibre we need to continue in our growth journey and to serve our clients at the highest standard. Both bring deep institutional networks, strong understanding of how sophisticated European investors make decisions and their evolving requirements, and the commercial discipline to build lasting, trust-based relationships.”
