In a recent article in The Times, Olly Hughes, Managing Director of the Gresham House Forestry Division, discussed the future of forestry with their Financial Editor, Patrick Hosking, during a visit to one of the forests that we manage in south Scotland.

Forestry is a beneficiary of long-term global megatrends, including the transition to net-zero and a shortage of housing stock.

This results in ongoing increasing demand for construction quality timber, as developers switch from carbon-intensive materials such as concrete and steel to more sustainable materials including wood.
