Aiming to generate long-term returns through investments in sustainable infrastructure and supporting the shift from finite resources to clean energy.

Our New Energy & Sustainable Infrastructure investments are focused on transformative technologies and industries that we believe will deliver strong financial returns alongside supporting the transition to a more sustainable world.

Our areas of focus include:

  • Waste Management: we invest in projects that help to sustainably manage waste outputs, often diverting waste from landfill or providing alternative end uses to waste by enabling reuse, recycling or conversion to heat and energy. These initiatives typically make an active contribution to the circular economy in line with the global sustainability agenda.
  • Agricultural Technology: we promote effective natural resource management via projects such as vertical farming that make efficient use of both land and water, as well as reducing overall ‘food miles’.
  • Energy Transition: we invest in projects that enable the decarbonisation of energy used in the UK. We do this by supporting development and construction of new renewable energy generating assets and utility-scale energy storage systems.

Alongside our investment management capability, through our TradeRisks business we are also able to offer solutions for financial sponsors and developers including:

  • Debt Arrangement and Placement: Bonds (including US PP), Syndicated Loans
  • Infrastructure Hedging Advisory
  • Strong Expertise in European projects: Renewable Energy, TMT, Transportation, Oil & Gas

Why invest in New Energy & Sustainable Infrastructure?

The infrastructure and new energy sectors offer appealing characteristics to buy-and-hold investors, namely stable, long term cash flows, often within regulated, essential service environments.

Investments generally benefit from substantial asset-backing and can provide investors with attractive long term cash flow, which itself benefits from:

  • Downside protection from the underlying asset cover
  • An attractive income stream that may be inflation-linked
  • Investments with a positive impact
  • The potential for capital growth
